Once Upon a Time She Said.

I don't think Hillary Clinton put 18 million cracks in that glass ceiling so some gun-lovin', anti-choice, anti-environment fundamentalist could sneak through.

Sarah Palin is not fit to even say her name, so how dare she use Hillary's words in her speech.

If I hear one more time that Sarah Palin has more "executive experience" than Barack Obama, I will scream.

She has been the governor of Alaska for a year and a half. Alaska, which has the population of Memphis, Tenn., or better yet, the same population as Obama's Illinois *state* Senate district.

Population of Illinois' 13th congressional district: 653,647
Population of Alaska: 683,478

Cuyahoga County, Ohio, has more population than Alaska.

Oh, but wait! She also was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska for two terms!

Wasilla has an incredible population of 6,715!

Let's see...what is comparible.

Hmm.

The City of Geneva, Ohio has a population of 6,595! Let's recruit the un-elected city manager and tell him he's qualified to be the vice president of the United States!

Ashtabula, Ohio is bigger than Wasilla. Nearly triple the size.

My God. Can you imagine anyone from that city being thrust into national and international politics?

If this is some ploy to attract Hillary's supporters, I am offended. I have to believe that women are smarter than that. Sarah Palin is no friend to women's rights. She is no friend to human rights.

Hillary had to prove that she could be commander in chief over and over. Now the mainstream media is going on about how Palin has "executive experience" because she was leader of Hobuckville and has five children, so she appeals to women.

I feel ill.

Oh, John McCain. Either you're brillant or you're stupid. Time will tell. But one thing is for sure: there were dozens more qualified Republican women you could have chosen from.

If the Republicans can successfully run an idiot actor for president (twice), why not a sports reporter beauty queen for vice president? Just turn on your local news, watch the sports dude and think to yourself, "That guy would make a good vice president."

I think Keith Olbermann used to be an announcer for ESPN. We should recruit him as vice president!

Honestly, aren't all these revelations about her insane? Did McCain look into her background at all?

She used to be a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, who wanted Alaska to secede from the United States! Is that putting "country first" blahblahblah?

This is my favorite from AMERICAblog (on Palin's foreign policy experience):

the McCain-Palin campaign now alleges that Palin visited Canada

Visited Canada? I've visited Canada. Do I have VP-quality foreign policy experience now?

I've stayed overnight in Canada! I'm more qualified than Palin.

You forget that Alaska also borders Russia, so naturally she has foreign policy experience.

"'Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So, it's not as if she doesn't understand what's at stake here,' Cindy McCain said."

Other people in the McCain camp have also said this.

They also count a LAYOVER in Ireland as foreign policy experience.

Not that I have ever admired the Republicans, but I am amazed that the party that in 2004 convinced the average American that Bush's war record was better than Kerry's is doing such a shit job this go around. Perhaps they've spent their time refining their election rigging techniques.

Yeah. This pick is so bizarre, I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's so...irresponsible and random.

Wow, what a great post.

Alaska is like 30 years behind the rest of the U.S., which is sad since the U.S. is like 20 years behind other industrialized countries.

Seriously, it's a state of hunters, fur farmers, and nature rapists.

You know she is SUING the government over polar bears being listed on the endangered species list? That is INSANE. Who wants to kill polar bears? Her, apparently.

She also supports the mass slaughter of wolves, as people shoot them from airplanes and helicopters. Wolves, who just got off on a list for protected species. Guess she will be responsible for them going back on it.

In June 2008, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game shot and killed 14 wolf pups near or in their dens as part of a wolf reduction effort to increase a caribou population in southwest Alaska. The state's press release on June 30 only mentioned that 28 wolves had been removed and that "wolves from three packs were shot from a helicopter," but did not disclose that staff also hunted the wolf pups from the ground at the den sites. This deception, and apparent violation of Alaska regulations, is cause for great concern.

Ill.
