Fourth quarter, six minutes left in the game, Cavs player Ben Wallace is NOWHERE NEAR THE BALL, when the Celtics deliberately foul him.

Why?

Because the Cavs are kicking their ass, and Wallace has one of the worst free-throw percentages in the game. The Celtics want to foul him and hope he misses so they can catch up.

They go on to do this four more times.

Wallace makes five out of the 10 free throws. We'll take that. Cavs gets the rebound on one of the misses, and LeBron makes a basket. (Although, on one of the fouls, LeBron had just made a three pointer, so it didn't count.)

But, come. One time, okay. Doing it five times? Four of them for four Cavs' possessions in a row? That is bullshit.

Today I watched several videos, from the mainstream media and from "citizen journalists" of recent McCain/Palin rallies. Some of these rallies took place in my own Ohio. I would share them, but the thought makes me ill.

John McCain and Sarah Palin should be ashamed of themselves, for promoting this hate, this ignorance, this VIOLENCE against another presidential candidate. Against another human being.

People at the Republican rallies yell out that Obama is a terrorist, that he should be killed, that he's a Muslim (and so what if he were, but that's something else entirely), that we should "bomb Obama." McCain/Palin supporters have turned into an unruly, hateful mob, and I honestly fear that violence will break out. It is SICKENING, and I can't even put into words how low I feel about it. And McCain smirks. And Palin encourages it: Obama pals around with terrorists!

I have to remember that these people are in the minority. That, for now, Obama is up in the polls. That even people like my grandmother, who has not always been the most tolerant, defends him against her friends that say they won't for a black man. They won't vote for a black man.

Seriously.

What to know who I voted for?

If I were playing a drinking game, taking a shot every time McCain said "my friends," I'd have alcohol poisoning right about now.

Debate night! So not watching it on CNN, where I'll have to listen to dumb-ass commentators. I guess if you have HDTV you'd be able to see their reactions real time! Joy.

I think I can catch it on CSPAN, where they just play it without people bothering you.

The women on The View slaughtered John McCain today. They're better journalists than the actual media - except for Elisabeth. She's just ignorant.

I'm impressed. They shot down all of his, okay, a lot of it, bull like whoah.

Barbara pointed out that Palin sold her plane at a loss and that McCain also used the lipstick on the pig line, they pressed him to name one of her reforms and he couldn't, and they pointed out that Palin has accepted earmarks. And they called his ads lies.

They talked about separation of church and state, Roe vs. Wade. He gave some bullshit answer, and Barbara said that's an answer from someone who wants to overturn it. People in the audience were pissed when he then admitted Roe vs. Wade shouldn't have happened.

Okay, if it looks bad when a small-town official refuses to grant interviews, then it's gottb be a catastrophe when someone who is running for VICE PRESIDENT refuses.

As a segment with Chuck Todd ended today, Republican consultant Mike Murphy and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan - both conservatives - were caught on a live mic ridiculing the choice of Sarah Palin.

"It's over," said Noonan.

She then responded to a question of whether Palin is the most qualified Republican woman McCain could have chosen.

"The most qualified? No. I think they went for this - excuse me - political bullshit about narratives," she said. "Everytime Republicans do that - because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy said, "The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."

Cuyahoga County, Ohio, has more population than Alaska.

Oh, but wait! She also was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska for two terms!

Wasilla has an incredible population of 6,715!

The City of Geneva, Ohio has a population of 6,595! Let's recruit the un-elected city manager and tell him he's qualified to be the vice president of the United States!

If this is some ploy to attract Hillary's supporters, I am offended. I have to believe that women are smarter than that. Sarah Palin is no friend to women's rights. She is no friend to human rights.

Hillary had to prove that she could be commander in chief over and over. Now the mainstream media is going on about how Palin has "executive experience" because she was leader of Hobuckville and has five children, so she appeals to women.

Oh, John McCain. Either you're brillant or you're stupid. Time will tell. But one thing is for sure: there were dozens more qualified Republican women you could have chosen from.

I was watching Paula Zahn's show on CNN last night...I don't know why I bother. I turned it off after the first discussion, because I was so disgusted.

Zahn was talking with three men--and I don't know what qualified any of them to speak on the topic--about the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and Pace's recent comments that homosexuality is "immoral."

One of the two black men on the "panel," after hearing some (probably) bogus statistic that 58 percent of people in the armed forces say they would be distracted or some rot by a gay person in their unit, said he was going to follow their opinion in this instance. He said if they thought homosexuals would hurt the cohesion of the armed forces, then homosexuals shouldn't be allowed in the armed forces.

Can he see the irony in his statements? Does he realize that the same thing was said about black
people--that at one point people tried to keep black people out of the armed forces because they would hurt its "cohesion"?

I can't stand it. I can't stand it when people who are discriminated against do the exact same thing to someone else. The pathetic excuse of "disrupting the cohesion" has been used against black people, women, and homosexuals.

Women still don't have the opportunity to have equal roles in the armed forces. Why can't we die for your lies, too, Bush?

Can you imagine how foolish I would look if *I*, as a woman, went around saying that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to be "out" in the armed forces because it would hurt its "cohesion"? Do people ever think that maybe the people who are oh-so-distracted should be
the ones kicked out of the armed forces?
